Samsung brings Google Stadia and GeForce Now to TVs via Gaming Hub

Some Samsung TVs that appear in 2022 will receive support for Google Stadia and GeForce Now. The apps will be available through Samsung TVs’ new Gaming Hub. There will also be an NFT platform.

Samsung announces a new Smart Hub for its 2022 smart TVs, of which the Gaming Hub is a part. Die Gaming Hub provides access to a collection of games that players can play streaming. Samsung is collaborating with Google Stadia, Nvidia’s GeForce Now and Utomik for this.

Initially, some TVs from the 2022 lineup of TVs will be able to install apps for Stadia and GeForce Now via the Gaming Hub, Samsung details to The Verge. The company is working on bringing the Gaming Hub to earlier TV models as well. It is not known at what resolution the games streaming are displayed. Only the Shield TV from Nvidia itself supports 4k display so far. LG announced in December that it will support Stadia for webOS 5.0 and above.

The Gaming Hub will receive support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers, which, thanks to passthrough support, can be used without much effort for both the streaming services and the console.

Samsung also announced that the Smart Hub will receive a Watch Together app, which allows users to watch together via video chat. The company also mentions an NFT platform, which allows users to ‘discover, purchase and trade’ digital goods. Finally, the TVs will receive support for Smart Calibration, which allows users to calibrate the screen in half a minute in a basic mode, while there will also be a professional mode, which allows for extensive calibration in about ten minutes.
