XPG Unveils Gaming Mouse with Built-in SSD

XPG, a maker of gaming peripherals, has unveiled a new way to take your games with you wherever you go.

According to Digital Trends the company is developing a gaming mouse with a built-in SSD. The experiment is called the XPG Vault.

We expect the new mouse to be shown at CES 2022. This fair takes place at the beginning of January. The invention is described as a wired USB-C mouse that puts your game library in the palm of your hand. The current prototype has a capacity of 1TB.

We are waiting for the specs

For as long as PC gaming has been around, taking your games to other places has been a challenge. Especially since you usually have to reinstall it. People used to take entire PCs to LAN parties for that reason.

Later we got portable storage, but with that you still depend on read and write speeds. Many companies are therefore now experimenting with cloud gaming.

The XPG Vault offers an alternative solution to this problem.

Besides the capacity, little is known about the device. The mouse doesn’t look fancy, with a matte black finish and a colored scroll wheel. We don’t know anything about the technical specifications yet, such as the DPI. There may also be a wireless version that supports 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connectivity.

XPG plans to show multiple products at CES. These include a PCIe 5.0 SSD, DDR5 RAM, a new PC power supply, and a PC case.
