Microsoft has unveiled several new features in the Windows Insider beta versions of its Office 365 apps. Auto Crop functionality has been added for Mac and iOS devices, while Android users can now merge PDF files.
According to Microsoft, the Auto Crop feature automatically detects the most important parts of an image and crops out the rest. This feature is available for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The automatic cropping tool currently supports single-photo use only and does not work with SVG and PDF files. The Auto Crop capability is accessible to Windows Insiders using version 2.76 or later of the iOS app. For Mac users, the required version is 16.76 or newer.
Microsoft 365 Insiders with build 16.0.16523.10000 or higher of the Android app now have access to a feature that allows them to merge PDF files. Users can navigate to the “Choose Files” page within the 365 apps, select the PDF files they want to merge into a single document and determine the order of the PDFs. It’s important to note that this premium feature is only accessible to users with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription.
