Telegram has added a range of new features to its chat app, including the ability to respond directly to messages with emojis. In addition, a spoiler function has been added and users can add a button to translate messages.

Telegram has released update 8.4 or the twelfth update to its instant messaging program. New is the possibility to interact with some emojis to respond to messages without actually having to send a new message yourself. Users can make their own selection of emojis to respond to, via the Quick Reactions menu.

Also, version 8.4 brings a spoiler function to the app. Allows users to make a selected text unreadable by default. Only if another user clicks on the obscured text will it become visible to that person. For example, users can talk about movie clips in channels without being accused of having made spoilers public.

Via the language settings, users can also add a button to the context menu that directly translates any message. This translation option can be used on any Android device that supports Telegram, but requires iOS devices running at least iOS 15.
