The apk of Plex’s Android app is said to contain a reference to a Where to Watch service from Plex. This would provide access to third-party streaming services through the Plex platform.

An image of the service shows that the Where to Watch service allows users to select their preferred streaming services. The Plex service would then handle “the rest.” Reddit user Ohmybahgosh claims to have found the image in the apk of the Plex app for Android.

The description for the service states that Plex can stream almost all movies and TV shows, “wherever they are.” On Reddit, users speculate that Plex appears to be on the cusp of integrating third-party streaming services so that users can also find and play videos from the likes of Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video via the platform.

In the summer of last year, a vacancy already appeared pointing to the arrival of integration of third-party streaming services in the Plex app. Services like Just Watch offer similar functionality, and Apple TV can also search the offerings of some streaming video providers.
