BlackBerry has updated its MDR service for Endpoint Guard. The Guard 2 version now includes XDR functionality. The service is based on technology from partner Exabeam.

With the update of its managed security service Guard to version 2, the security specialist is expanding the solution with XDR functionality. With this, BlackBerry wants to offer its customers more protection for the endpoints that make contact with their networks. The service protects systems and infrastructure and focuses on stopping attack attempts. XDR or Extended Detection and Response is indispensable for this.

Blackberry Guard 2 is a subscription-based managed service. This service uses existing BlackBerry solutions, such as the Cylance AI platform, for continuous protection, detection and response. The service now features a new customer and analyst portal and multi-region support.

Functionality

BlackBerry Guard 2 includes AI-based endpoint protection using machine learning to detect malware, fileless and user-induced threats.

Other functionality includes continuous threat intelligence overlay where the latest threat data is combined with the data coming from the IT environment, automated rapid response to attacks and threats and continuous authentication via the Cylance AI model and biometric and behavioral analytics.

In addition, the solution also provides functionality such as detecting mobile threats. Naturally, customers receive 24×7 monitoring support from BlackBerry specialists to prevent and solve problems.

The security specialist also plans to integrate data from other BlackBerry solutions in the near future. Think of data from BlackBerry Protect Mobile, BlackBerry Gateway and BlackBerry Persona. This should give customers broader insight into their ecosystem of endpoints.

Collaboration with Exameam

The new version of Guard was developed in collaboration with BlackBerry partner Exabeam. This security specialist provides, among other things, a next-generation SIEM solution. The solution empowers security teams with analytical insights to discover, investigate, and resolve threats. BlackBerry’s Guard 2 solution also integrates with other Exabeam services.
