Apple is said to be launching many new Macs in the coming year. Five different ones, to be exact. This may include a cheaper variant of the MacBook Pro.

Mark Gurman, one of the most trusted Apple leakers, tells this in his most recent newsletter. He mentions, among other things, a new MacBook Pro and a modified MacBook Air, built with the M2 chip in mind.

Gurman also expects a new high-end iMac to come on the market, with its own unique chip. This would, according to the leak, be in a league above the iMac 24-inch. An updated Mac Mini is also expected.

The latest model in the lineup is a new Mac Pro, powered by Apple’s own chipset.

Analysis: What about the new MacBooks?

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard speculation about Apple’s new devices. But this time there are some notable mentions.

For example, the transition from Intel to Apple’s own chipsets is surprisingly fast. In addition, the new MacBook Pro stands out as it may get the same M2 chipset as the upcoming MacBook Air, according to MacRumors.

This laptop has been off our radar for a while, but a new version with an M2 chip is rekindling interest. Although it is not certain that the MacBook Pro will get this processor, according to Gurman.

What we do know for sure, based on this newsletter, is that Apple has a busy year ahead when it comes to Macs. This is a good business. We don’t know yet which of these devices will appear first. The updated Mac Mini looks like a candidate to kick off 2022 for Apple. The updated MacBook Air also has a chance to appear early. According to Gurman, it may be on the market as early as May 2022.
