An unknown hacker or hacker group has put a database online containing the email addresses and phone numbers associated with 5.4 million Twitter accounts. The attacker was able to retrieve the data through a bug that has since been fixed.
Google fires engineer who claimed LaMDA had become self-aware
Google has fired Blake Lemoine from the company’s Responsible AI division after he was previously suspended. He hit the headlines in June for claims that the LaMDA language model had taken on a life of its own and was self-aware.

Samsung will have sold nearly 10 million foldable smartphones worldwide by 2021. That is about 300 percent more than in 2020. The South Korean manufacturer also announced a new Unpacked event that will take place on August 10.

Google will again display information in the Google Play Store about the permissions that Android apps ask for on devices. The company does this after feedback from developers. This section disappeared earlier this year after the arrival of privacy labels to the Play Store.
