Acer has announced three new Chromebooks, including a Chromebook Spin 513 with a 3:2 display and an unmentioned MediaTek Kompanio 1380-soc with eight cores. The Chromebooks will all appear in the first half of 2022.
The Chromebook Spin 513 ranks highest among Acer’s three new Chromebooks. This laptop will have a 13.5″ folding screen with a resolution of 2556×1504 pixels. Acer also provides the Spin 513 with 8GB of memory and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB storage, writes Android Authority. According to the manufacturer, the laptop has a battery life of up to 10 hours. .
The notebook also gets a MediaTek Kompanio 1380 chip, which has eight Arm cores and an Arm Mali-G57 MC5 GPU. MediaTek has not yet announced that soc itself. It is therefore not known which cores the Kompanio 1380 has exactly. For example, a previously announced Kompanio 1300T features four Cortex-A78 cores and four A55 variants. Acer Chromebook 315 and 314 with Intel processors
Acer is also introducing two lower-ranked Chromebook models. The Acer Chromebook 315 will have a screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and will come with 8GB of memory and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The Chromebook 315 has an Intel Celeron N4500 dual-core, Celeron N5100 quad-core or Pentium Silver N6000. This laptop will be available at the end of the first quarter of 2022 from 399 euros.
The Acer Chromebook 314 shows great similarities with the Chromebook 315, but has different speakers and a smaller 14″ screen, making it slightly lighter.
