The Tor Project has started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the maintenance of the browser. The makers hope to raise $75,000 to fix bugs and maintain the platform.

The majority of ransomware infections on European companies and institutions are not reported to authorities. It is also unknown how many victims get infected and whether they pay the ransom. That would complicate the approach to ransomware.

Microsoft is changing the way it collects telemetry from European enterprise customers. Currently, the processor is determined via policies per device, but in the future this will be done via a single policy in Active Directory.

Amazon is shutting down its Drive cloud storage service. The company started this in 2011, but from the end of next year the service can no longer be used. Storage of photos and videos is automatically migrated to Amazon Photos.

Intel’s turnover was lower than expected in the past quarter, partly due to falling demand for PCs. Sales of Intel’s consumer division fell 25 percent. The company is slashing earnings and revenue forecasts for the remainder of 2022.
