VMware has released a beta of virtualization software VMware Fusion that supports the ARM version of Windows 11 for Macs with Apple Silicon. The company added fast encryption to its virtual TPM chip, a graphics driver and network driver.

The Indonesian government has temporarily blocked the online services of Yahoo, PayPal, Steam, Epic Games and some other companies. The companies would not comply with local legislation requiring them to register with the government.

Lenovo plans to extend official support for Linux as an operating system to at least 36 platforms. Several systems in Lenovo’s L-series, E-series and Z-series are getting official Linux support.

Amazon is shutting down its Drive cloud storage service. The company started this in 2011, but from the end of next year the service can no longer be used. Storage of photos and videos is automatically migrated to Amazon Photos.

Intel’s turnover was lower than expected in the past quarter, partly due to falling demand for PCs. Sales of Intel’s consumer division fell 25 percent. The company is slashing earnings and revenue forecasts for the remainder of 2022.

Microsoft has released a new test version of Windows 11 in the Dev Channel. Build 25169 includes a new Spotlight theme, a multi-app kiosk mode option, and more functionality for the Settings app.

A Russian court has fined WhatsApp and other tech companies. The companies would refuse to store the collected data of Russian citizens in Russia. WhatsApp received the highest fine, which amounts to about 18 million rubles.

Meta has recorded lower quarterly turnover for the first time compared to a year earlier. The company recorded a turnover of 28.2 billion euros last quarter, one percent less than the same period in 2021. Meta expects another decrease next quarter.
